Candice Swanepoel: Catwalk CV

CANDICE SWANEPOEL might be best known as aVictoria's Secret Angel, but the South African-born model has been a regular on the international fashion week scene for several years, and has an impressive number of editorial and advertising campaigns to boast on her CV. Miu Miu, Oscar de la Renta and Versace have all enlisted her to front recent campaigns, and she's featured on the cover of Voguein Japan, Portugal, Brazil, Italy and Spain.
Spotted while shopping in a flea market as a teenager, a young (then-brunette), Swanepoel made her debut on the Milan and New York catwalks in 2005 at the age of 17, walking for Dolce & Gabbana, Tommy Hilfiger and Bottega Veneta - appearing steadily for several seasons until she was snapped up by Victoria's Secret in 2007. Following a three-year break, Swanepoel made her runway return for autumn/winter 2011-12, quickly amassing appearances for everyone from Chanel to Stella McCartney, Givenchy and Christian Dior.
But Victoria's Secret remains the brand with which the blonde-haired blue-eyed model is most closely associated, and alongside the likes of fellow Angels Alessandra Ambrosio, Miranda Kerr, Adriana Lima and Doutzen Kroes, has now become one of the lingerie brand's household names. It's a career path that's proved lucrative: in 2012, a 23-year-old Swanepoel came 10th on Forbes' top-earning models list, with estimated annual earnings of $3.1 million (£2.02 million) - the youngest name to feature in the top 10.
Look back at her catwalk history here.
