ARE you having difficulty navigating the Royal Ascot's tightened dress code? This morning, Amber Le Bon launched the outfits that the event's dress code attendants will be wearing this year - and so she shared her advice on how to achieve the balance of Royal Ascot-style glamour without looking dated.
"Start with a great statement hat with a bold lip colour," Le Bon told us. "Then team with a vintage-style day dress or a statement print trouser suit."
The team of 20 dress code assistants will be on hand at the annual races, which takes place between Tuesday July 18 and Saturday June 22, to help visitors with any last-minute concerns over their attire - offering helpful suggestions that adhere to the event's style rules introduced in January 2012. Le Bon believes that looking the part is a crucial element of Royal Ascot tradition.
"It's such a traditional quintessentially British event where everyone really gets into the spirit of things," she said. "It's really quite rare these days for girls to have to adhere to a formal dress code and for guys to have to think about top hats and morning suits, but that is all part of the occasion and it's great fun to get into. Most of the summer we are dressed down in festival gear or bikinis, so this a change to be super glam and formal."
And who to look to for Royal Ascot style inspiration?
"I think that the royals always look great," Le Bon added. "I love that people place bets to guess what colour the Queen will be wearing every day!"
