Zach Braff has reason to be excited.
The Kickstarter campaign that the actor set up to raise funds for his latest film project, Wish I Was Here, passed the $3 million mark today, the final push perhaps spurred on by the likes of Kate Hudson, Anna Kendrick and Jim Parsons joining the cast.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you. I won't let you down! Lets do this," Braff tweeted after getting the good news.

Braff tweeted nonstop yesterday about approaching the milestone, his missives ranging from"UK, when you look at the page 3 girl's boobs today, think of me. K?" to"Whomever pledges the last $ will get sex from Kate Upton. (Note: this is a lie.)"The campaign is now closed to further donations and...it's moviemaking time!
The former Scrubs star took a lot of flak at first for taking to Kickstarter in the wake of the overnight success of theVeronica Mars movie campaign, but obviously enough people were taken with his idea to overcome the critics.

In addition to the kindness of strangers, Braff will also be putting his own money into the project and the success of his Kickstarter venture prompted Worldview Entertainment to offer up gap financing.
Mandy Patinkin and Josh Gad have also been cast in Wish I Was Here, in which Braff will play a young man forced to reconsider his life and family after he learns his father is dying.
