Seth MacFarlane Won’t Host Oscars Again

Seth MacFarlane announced Monday that he won’t return to host the Oscars again in 2014, which would be even bigger news if he hadn’t made the same announcement twice before.
Speculation had risen that MacFarlane might make a comeback appearanceafter exec producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron signed on to return for next year’s kudocast, but MacFarlane put the idea to rest — again.

“Traumatized critics exhale: I’m unable to do the Oscars again,” MacFarlane began in the first of a pair of tweets Monday. “Tried to make it work schedule-wise, but I need sleep. However, I highly recommend the job, as Zadan and Meron are two of the most talented producers in the business. My suggestion for host is Joaquin Phoenix.”
